APC 2021 Virtual Conference – Workshops to Look Forward to!

2020 is behind us.  We now take this opportunity to focus on 2021, the 75th anniversary of the APC and this year’s conference.  This year’s conference is going to be different in many ways from past conferences.  In the past we have been able to meet in person, listen to high quality presentations, and interact with one another directly.  This year we will not have the same in person experience but we will be able to experience the high-quality workshops and presentations that have always been a part of the APC’s annual conferences.  There will also be new and creative ways to interact with one another in our virtual venue. We are excited that we can offer you a great learning and growing experience even if the experience and venue are uniquely different.

The virtual setting allows for some unique opportunities in creativity and scheduling and preparing our Pre and Post conference intensives and our workshops. We are excited to be able to offer you so many opportunities for professional development in this year of the celebration of our 75th year anniversary.  The theme for this year’s Annual Conference of the Association of Professional Chaplains:  “Celebrating 75 Years: Honor our Past, Pause in the Present, Innovate for the Future” has allowed for an amazing amount of variety within our workshops and conference intensives. We had a large selection of workshops and professional development intensives to choose from, and with the diversity allotted us by the theme we were able to choose 40 workshops and 8 intensives that will allow for excellent educational opportunities for everyone that are diverse and inclusive in their offerings.

The topics that will be covered during the presentations include advocacy, alternative therapies, crisis response, disaster response, diversity, documentation, ethics, partnerships, patient satisfaction, research, self-care, spiritual assessment, and technology.

We are looking at excellent educational opportunities at our conference this year. We are thankful to all our presenters for their work and commitment to producing a strong educational offering.  We look forward to learning together at this conference in this new and different way as we continue to grow in our professional development and celebrate our 75th year of our ministry of spiritual care and compassion.

Keep an eye out for future emails about registration, coming soon.

Rev. Ryan Swieringa MDiv BCC is the Director of Spiritual Care, National at Trinity Health in Howell, MI.
