BCCI Application for Certification Specialist Volunteer

A Certification Specialist is a Board-Certified Chaplain with experience serving on committees and who has demonstrated a clear understanding of the policies and procedures of the committee interviews.

Qualifications: To qualify to apply as a certification specialist you must be board certified, be familiar with the certification process, have served on at least 3 committees, have served in the Chair and Presenter role at least once, and be a good facilitator of group process.

Expectations: Ideally there would be one Certification Specialist on every committee to help ensure that all committee interviews are being conducted in a way that follows our policies and procedures and offers the most fair and open space possible for our candidates to demonstrate their competencies. The Certification Specialist would serve in the “Chair” role for each candidate interview.

Training: One 60-90 minute Zoom call that goes into more detail than the regular committee member training. Training will be required on an annual basis.
