APC Call for Board Nominations January 2020
Serving in leadership is one of the most important ways for members to contribute to and shape the work and mission of APC. As a member of APC you are encouraged to consider and submit qualified Nominations for the APC Board of Directors, including self-nominations. Only current Board Certified Chaplains may be considered for these important positions.
Each member has gifts and talents that can contribute to the ongoing success of APC. In exchange for your time and support, you will gain a deeper appreciation for all the work that APC does on behalf of the profession of chaplaincy, and for our members. In addition to serving your colleagues and the profession, you will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills that will benefit you both professionally and personally.
According to their position, each director serves up to a three-year term of office and must be willing to commit the time and attention necessary to be successful in this national leadership role. The role of Secretary is the first position in the board officer track, and subsequently moves through the next three (3) board officer positions: one year in the position of secretary, one year as treasurer, one year as president-elect and one year as president. Please consider the following leadership positions with terms beginning November 1, 2020.
• Director, three year term (open to board certified chaplains only)
• Secretary, one-year term succeeding to treasurer, to president-elect, to president (open to current non-officer board members only)
Descriptions for these board positions are on the APC website along with the nomination process, board criteria as well as the nomination form to complete and return to APC.
The deadline for nominations is February 14, 2020.
